We’re excited to share the official launch of the EDUbox “Kritisch Denken” (Critical Thinking), a new educational tool designed for secondary schools across Flanders. Developed by VRT in close collaboration with Artevelde Hogeschool and several other Flemish partners, this EDUbox draws on insights and methodologies developed during the TITAN project. It’s a practical step forward in promoting media literacy and critical engagement among young people, a timely response to the growing challenges of misinformation and manipulation in the digital age.

What’s inside to Support Critical Thinking?
The EDUbox introduces students to critical thinking through interactive formats, including a scripted chatbot that guides learners using Socratic questioning techniques, encouraging them to reflect, probe, and reason more deeply. Plus a dynamic interactive site and PDF materials that can be used both in and outside the classroom.

While this first version features a basic chatbot experience, future iterations will integrate the more advanced TITAN-Coach, further expanding students’ ability to self-navigate complex information environments.
What’s next?
An English version of the EDUbox is already in the works, alongside new video content in both Dutch and English. These will explore disinformation tactics in greater depth, supporting teachers and learners across Europe and beyond.
Why it matters
This EDUbox is not just an educational resource, it bridges research, media, and pedagogy to deliver real-world impact in classrooms. We hope it inspires further collaboration between public broadcasters, research institutions, and educators.
Stay tuned for updates, and feel free to share with colleagues working on digital literacy, education, and youth engagement.
